While I have spent the bulk of my professional career working in the Tech industry (I have over 7 years of experience working as a recruiter across Poland, Ireland, and the UK) my educational background is in Slavic Languages and Literatures, and since 2017 I have been endeavoring to reconnect with this passion and apply myself as a translator from both Polish and Russian into English. 

My achievements in this sphere include translating and editing scholarly articles and essays for two ongoing projects on the life and work of Polish poet Cyprian Kamil Norwid at the John Paul II Catholic University in Lublin, Poland, as well as, most recently, translating the memoir of a Pole who was exiled to Siberia during WWII for the Sybir Memorial Museum in Białystok, Poland, for whom I also regularly translate scholarly articles and essays.

My literary tastes traverse themes of existential despair, alienation, isolation, and societal disillusionment, spanning various cultures (most often Slavic, Balkan, and Italian), with an inclination towards non-fiction, particularly Polish reportage. My latest ambition is to venture into the realm of translating contemporary Polish fiction, seeking to amplify underrepresented voices and exploring unconventional perspectives on the experience of Polish culture.

I am currently the Polish language mentee in ALTA’s prestigious Emerging Translator Mentorship program.
